Lake Tenkiller
Constructed in the early 1950s, Tenkiller Ferry Lake is a 12,900 acre lake that stretches from the Northern part of Gore to Southern Tahlequah. While serving its main purpose as a flood control reservoir, Tenkiller also serves as a water supply for surrounding towns as well as a source for electricity generation. The lake is also a recreational hub for much of Oklahoma and Arkansas, providing areas for water sports, fishing, camping, scuba diving, and many other activities.
